What Are Investors Really Buying?
Many people think investing means constantly buying and selling, watching prices all day, or trying to predict the market. But real investing, in its simplest form, means owning a piece of a business.
Warren Buffett has spent decades buying shares of companies people use every day. Companies like The Coca-Cola Company, American Express, or large food brands.
The interesting idea is this:
Every time someone uses that company’s products or services, that business continues generating value and making money. That’s why good investing is not just about charts going up and down. It’s about owning something that creates real value in the real world. Many people look at the market like gambling. But great investors look at it as if they are buying a business. They do not simply ask: “Will the price go up?”
Instead, they ask: “Will this business still be useful, profitable, and valuable to people years from now?”
